Organizational Charter

Section I - Disclaimers

  1. The SLCPA has by no means any legal control of any copyrighted, registered or trademarked materials used in its endeavors that are owned by another.
    1. The exception to this rule is when materials are provided by the copyright, register or trademark holder.
  1. The SLCPA, its owners, hosts, affiliates and sponsors are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
    1. It is encouraged that participants keep their loose items in boxes or bags near them at all times. However, during a game, loose items should be placed in sight, but not on or around the playing field.
  1. The SLCPA is not responsible for damage participants do to themselves, others or the surroundings.
    1. Those who cause any damage will be ask to not return as well as pay for the damage they may have caused. If the participant is a minor, the parents or guardian will be given a bill and it will expected to be paid in a timely matter, else be sent to collection.

4. The SLCPA is restricted from confiscating or destroying materials in which it does not own. Such acts are illegal and will not be tolerated if done by the SLCPA representatives or other parties in SLCPA presence.

A. If it is found that action or materials are illegal by law, then local law enforcement will be contacted.

5. The SLCPA Organizational Charter, Conduct & Rules and each of the game's rules must be posted at each event as well as made available online for participants to freely download.

Section II - Officers

1. Officials of the SLCPA are its CEO or Chief Executive Officer and the leaders or representatives of sponsoring organizations as well as additional people chosen by the CEO.

2. The first and second placeholders at the end of each tournament determine club officers. This provides the officers a chance to reclaim their titles and retain their seats as an officer by the time of the next tournament.

3. Each officer, one per officer, will decide on Judges. Decisions will be based on a potential judge's knowledge of the game in which he or she will be supervising. Judges will change based on an officer's existence in office.

4. Champions and runner-ups will be required to offer up their titles at the end of each tournament to the first and second place winners. The winners will take their seats as officers as well as take home the predetermined prizes issued as a reward.

5. A judge must be on hand to supervise any title matches and the SLCPA officials must be informed in advance to prepare accordingly.

6. Champions and runner-ups can deny any and all requests for a title bout, for the exception of the tournament finals.

Section III - Sessions

1. Meetings will consist of either one of these four types of sessions:

A. General

General sessions is simply meetings where no major events take place. This time is meant for practice and trading. Champions and runner-ups can not offer their title in any matches.

B. Preliminary

Preliminaries are two-hour events where participants attempt to increase their likelihood of achieving the final levels needed to advance to the next tournament. Champions and runner-ups can offer their title in any matches.

C. Tournament

Tournaments are four-hour events that decide the champions and runner-ups per each league as well as inevitably producing new officers and judges. Champions and runner-ups can offer their title in any matches. There will be no issuing of credit for those who partake in these types of activities.

D. Extra-Curricular

Extra-circulars are activities, such as attending events, held at locations outside of the normally planned meeting place. These events could be charitable events, inter-league gaming or picnics. Champions and runner-ups can not offer their title in any matches. There will be no issuing of credit for those who partake in these types of activities.

E. Party

Parties are events not involving cards. Parties could entail the usage of television programs and video games as well as non-religious holiday or seasonal activities. There will be no issuing of credit for those who partake in these types of activities.

2. Tournaments are held on the last Saturday in March, June, September and December. The remaining sessions are general, preliminary or extra-circular and will most likely be held regularly on the last Saturday of the remaining months.

Section IV - Refreshments

1. Refreshments may only be available during tournaments.

A. If others are interested in providing refreshments, we recommend buying an assortment of drinks and chips from a dollar store. Buy for 100 or more. 96 cans of pop at Sav-A-Lot are roughly $16. Please contact SLCPA to let them know that one wishes to provide refreshments.

B. Those providing refreshments will be asked to pay an additional $10 to pay a cleaning fee. Keep in mind to not supply liquids (soda or juice) containing any orange, purple or red dyes, for if spilled will stain the carpet.

Section V - Donations

  1. The SLCPA is currently unable to accept donations. Once it can, donators will be issued either a receipt in person or via the Internet, depending on the method of the monetary transaction. There may or may not be the ability for donators to write off the donations as tax deductible.

Section VI - Requirements & Restrictions

1. It is highly recommended that participants bring at least their own cards, dice, writing instruments and paper.

2. It is recommended that participants purchase a low-cost calculator from a dollar retailer. The most basic of calculators costs roughly one American dollar.

3. There is no creed, gender or race requirement to participate with the SLCPA for we do not discriminate.

  1. Extra-Circular sessions may require participants under certain ages to have a parent or guardian fill out a permission form. These include such events as a movie viewing and generally anything dealing with travel that a parent or guardian will not be providing.
